Norden House Brings Residents and Families Together for Special Cheese and Wine Evening

Residents at HMT Norden House Care Home were joined by family and friends for a special Cheese and Wine Evening, creating an enjoyable occasion filled with conversation, laughter and quality time together.

The event gave residents the opportunity to sample a selection of cheeses paired with different wines while relaxing with loved ones in a welcoming and sociable setting. Throughout the evening, residents shared stories, reminisced and enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time together, with many discovering new favourite wines along the way.

At Norden House, meaningful activities are an important part of everyday life. The team believes that outstanding care is about much more than meeting physical needs – it is about creating opportunities for residents to remain socially connected, maintain relationships and continue enjoying the experiences that make life fulfilling.

Ellaine Navarro, Care Home Manager at Norden House, said:

“Events like our Cheese and Wine Evening remind us how important it is to create moments of happiness. Seeing residents laughing with family and friends, enjoying conversation and trying something different is exactly what life at Norden House is all about. We want our residents to continue living rich, fulfilling lives, and bringing people together in this way plays a big part in supporting their wellbeing.”

The evening also highlighted the home’s commitment to welcoming families into everyday life at Norden House. By creating regular opportunities for relatives and friends to join activities, the home helps residents maintain strong relationships and continue making new memories with the people they love.

The Cheese and Wine Evening is one of many events organised throughout the year to support residents’ emotional wellbeing, encourage social interaction and create a true sense of community within the home. From themed celebrations and live entertainment to intergenerational visits and cultural experiences, the activities programme is designed to ensure every resident has opportunities to stay engaged, active and connected.

The evening was a great success, with residents already asking when the next Cheese and Wine Night will take place – proof that sometimes the simplest occasions are the ones that bring the greatest joy.
